Innovation at the Nexus of Food, Energy, and Water Systems Application
The INFEWS (Innovation at the Nexus of Food, Energy, and Water Systems) application for the 2019-2020 cohort is now open. Innovation at the Nexus of Food, Energy, and Water Systems is an NSF-funded graduate traineeship in integrated urban solutions for food, energy, and water management. The program is for PhD or MS students pursing a degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) or a related field at UCLA. In addition to the normal requirements of their degree program, INFEWS trainees will participate in additional training elements. These elements are designed to enrich the graduate experience without extending time to degree. For more information on the INFEWS program visit their website.
Applications will be accepted from prospective and current graduate students. Exceptional incoming PhD students may be offered a one-year fellowship ($34,000/year plus tuition and fees). Fellowships are limited to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. International students are eligible to join the program, but will not be eligible for fellowships. Students from diverse backgrounds and those traditionally underrepresented are especially encouraged to apply.
The priority deadline is March 1, 2019. Click here to apply.

These winners will receive: seed funding, intensive training, and tailored mentorship to bring their big environmental ideas to life. We’re looking for the artists, scientists, economists, communicators and entrepreneurs aged 18 to 30, with big, bold ideas — for our planet, for humanity, for a greener future.
Are you one of them? The call is now open.

Citizens Climate Lobby Climate Leaders Program
Are you passionate about solving climate change? Do you want to develop the skills to be an effective leader, communicator, and organizer, no matter what professional field you enter? Citizens’ Climate Lobby’s Campus Leader Program is designed to empower students to become effective climate advocates and organizers in their communities. With support from CCL staff and higher ed allies, campus leaders educate themselves and others in advocacy skills, lead a group, and build political will for carbon pricing. Students who are new to CCL join the regular track, focused on learning advocacy skills, and students who have been involved with CCL for 6 months or more and have prior advocacy training join the accelerated track to start a CCL chapter at their school. Please apply via the CCL website. Download our 4-page brochure for more information.
