Nestled in the heart of Malibu, Pepperdine University is uniquely bordered by two exquisite California ecosystems — coastal beaches and intertidal zones and the spectacular coastal mountains of the Santa Mountains National Recreation Area. In partnership with Pepperdine and under the leadership of Professor Lee Kats, amphibian ecologist and Vice Provost For Research and Strategic Initiatives at Pepperdine, the La Kretz Center hosts its Annual La Kretz Public Lecture on Pepperdine’s campus. From urban carnivores to environmental education, these annual lectures bring crucial environmental and conservation issues to the public via renowned researchers and leaders in their fields.
