CTR Lightening Talks
CTR researchers and faculty lightening talks
-
UCLA IoES Large Conference Room, La Kretz Hall, 3rd Floor
Hi everyone!
CTR community meetings connect tropical researchers by providing space to discuss research and build community. It has been very exciting getting to know each other’s work, interests, and ideas! At our last meeting, Virginia Zaunbrecher shared an update about her work to improve international collaboration and build guidelines to support global classrooms at UCLA.
For our next two meetings, CTR affiliated faculty and researchers will be presenting lightning talks to share their work with the CTR community!
We will have coffee and pastries for everyone joining in person ☕️
This week we will hear from:
Timo Metz (La Kretz Postdoc, UCLA EEB Department)
How Biodiversity Recovers from Perturbation: Resilience of a Tropical Rainforest
Seth Judson (Assistant Professor-in-residence, UCLA David Geffen Medical School)
Translational Infection Disease Co-epidemiology: Yellow Fever Re-emergence in Colombia
Yue Li (Assistant Professor, UCLA Geography Department)
Heatwaves Exacerbate Global Wildfire Risk by Amplifying the Likelihood of Fire Occurrence
Join us on February 23rd at 9:00 AM in the IoES Conference Room, 3rd Floor of La Kretz Hall, or on Zoom.
CTR meetings are open to faculty, staff, postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduates. Please sign up here if you want to share your research or facilitate a discussion at an upcoming meeting.
We look forward to seeing you there!
