Please join us for two knowledge-sharing sessions with Mario Daniel Muñoz Ríos, a UCLA IoES Visiting Graduate Researcher working with Dr. Alesia Montgomery, the week of September 21. Mario Daniel will discuss his work at the intersection of industrial labor, environmental conditions, and well-being in El Salto, Jalisco, Mexico. One session will be held in Spanish, and the other in English.

More about Mario Daniel Muñoz Ríos
Mario Daniel is a PhD candidate in Social Sciences at the University of Guadalajara and UCLA IoES Visiting Graduate Researcher working with Dr. Alesia Montgomery. His doctoral research examines how industrialization affects labor, environmental conditions, and well-being in El Salto, Jalisco, Mexico, one of the country’s most heavily industrialized and polluted areas. Mario Daniel is particularly interested in the intersections between industrial labor, environmental harm, workers’ lived experiences, and territorial inequality, using mixed methods that combine socioeconomic, environmental, spatial, and qualitative data.

Los invitamos a dos sesiones de intercambio de conocimiento con Mario Daniel Muñoz Ríos, investigador visitante de posgrado en UCLA IoES, bajo la supervisión de la Dra. Mario Daniel es candidato a doctor en Ciencias Sociales por la Universidad de Guadalajara y Visiting Graduate Researcher en el Institute of the Environment and Sustainability (IoES) de UCLA, donde trabaja con la Dra. Alesia Montgomery. Su investigación doctoral examina cómo la industrialización afecta el trabajo, las condiciones ambientales y el bienserestar en El Salto, Jalisco, México, una de las zonas más industrializadas y contaminadas del país. Sus principales intereses de investigación se centran en las intersecciones entre el trabajo industrial, el daño ambiental, las experiencias vividas por las y los trabajadores y la desigualdad territorial. Para ello, emplea una metodología mixta que combina datos socioeconómicos, ambientales, espaciales y cualitativos.
