Research Interests
I am interested in the urban-natural interface and interactions between the two brought on by development. My dissertation research conducted at Southern California Edison Company (SCE) focuses on the effects of transmission line construction on soil and vegetation in the deserts of southern California.
Prior to my internship at SCE, I studied the history of the urban forest of Los Angeles by focusing on the evolution of tree nursery offerings over the past 110 years (from early 1900s to 2011) under the guidance of Dr. Stephanie Pincetl and Dr. Thomas W. Gillespie at the IoES.
