Initiated by 2026 Goldman Environmental Award and 2023 Pritzker Emerging Environmental Genius Award winner Dr. Iroro Tanshi, this exhibit tells a story that brings to life the shared challenge of wildfires and the collective efforts to protect wildlife and livelihoods across continents. We will highlight shared experiences between communities in Nigeria and the American West—focusing on both the impacts on wildlife and the inspiring action taken by local people. This show features the work of photographers Aaron Colussi and Etinosa Yvonne.
Dr. Iroro Tanshi is a Nigerian conservation ecologist whose work focuses on wildlife conservation, community-led wildfire prevention, and biodiversity protection. Her achievements have been recognized with the 2023 Pritzker Emerging Environmental Genius Award, the 2026 Goldman Environmental Prize for Africa, and the 2026 National Geographic/ Buffett Award for Leadership in Conservation. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with visual stories from around the world and hear from Dr. Iroro Tanshi, who will talk about wildfire resilience, conservation, and community-led solutions.
This tour was created to bridge the gap between science, storytelling, and public engagement. As wildfire impacts continue to grow globally, we believe it is critical to create spaces where people can learn from one another, connect across disciplines, and better understand the relationship between healthy ecosystems, climate resilience, and community well-being.

Etinosa Yvonne is a self-taught documentary photographer, photojournalist and
multidisciplinary artist based in Abuja, Nigeria. She works with a range of media,
including photographs, videos, texts, sculptures, performances, and installations. The
primary focus of her work is the exploration of themes related to culture, religion,
tradition, the environment, the human condition and social injustice.

Aaron Colussi is a photographer, videographer, and director based in the Rocky
Mountains but often found on the road. He is a recent The North Face Expedition
recipient. A member of the BBC Nature Unit, Netflix Nature Unit, and is a Forest
Service Wildland Fire Contractor.
