Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim, former co-chair, International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate Change, who was representing civil society organisations at the ongoing 14^th Conference of Parties (COP) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), spoke to Down To Earth about this. Ibrahim is a member of the policy board of the United Nations Indigenous Peoples’ Partnership and of the executive committee, Indigenous Peoples of Africa Coordinating Committee.
