CDLS Photography Post-Production Workshop for Science Communication with Randall Adsit

Please join us at the Center for Diverse Leadership in Science and Randall Adsit in a workshop on Photography Post-Production for Science Communication on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 12pm-2pm PDT.

Randall, Associate Professor of Earth Sciences at East Los Angeles College, will show you how to take better pictures and how to edit them using software.

The workshop will take place in the UCLA Geology Building Computer Lab (Room 4691). Please RSVP in advance if you’d like to join the workshop in person, or remotely through Zoom.

Please share and encourage others to come!

Workshop Description

Do you have pictures that are muddy looking? Or perhaps some parts of your pictures are too bright, while others (often faces) are too dark? Have you wondered how you can improve your pictures?

This photography workshop will teach you how to take better pictures and how to fix them on your computer using Adobe Lightroom and other apps. We will also discuss when it is appropriate to edit your pictures, and when it might NOT be appropriate.

*CDLS does not provide access to Adobe Creative Cloud. Participants can either (1) use one of eight computers in the computer lab that has Adobe Creative Cloud already installed or (2) install Adobe Creative Cloud on their personal devices. UCLA students can install the Adobe Creative Cloud software on personal devices for free.
