Ann Carlson in US News: Climate Change Lawsuits Will Test Oil Companies in Court

Ann Carlson, an environmental law professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, said that this development was a “new phase” for Trump’s attacks on California.

“The federal government is not interested in negotiating international agreements about climate change,” Carlson wrote in a blog post. She said the lawsuit is “motivated by spite and vindictiveness, not out of an actual concern that the state is somehow impairing the Trump Administration’s foreign policy efforts to forge agreement on climate change.”
