Daniel Swain in Mercury News: Why fire scientists are so worried about Sunday’s weather

“Be prepared to leave before orders are issued during period of strongest winds.  Fires may be moving too fast for effective notification,” tweeted Daniel Swain, a climate scientist with the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability at UC-Los Angeles.

“This is about as bad a fire weather forecast as I have ever seen in California,” Swain said.
