The Energy Team conducted an energy audit of the Physics and Astronomy Building on campus, using light and occupancy data loggers to examine if unoccupied rooms had lights consistently turned on. The team distributed surveys and trial devices to gauge student interest in purchasing solar-powered phone chargers. Using the data collected, the team submit a proposal to UCLA Facilities on how they can save energy and money in the future through their operations, in addition to presenting the trial run’s findings to ASUCLA, with the hope of selling solar-powered phone chargers in the campus student store.
