Information for Surf Protected Area (SPA) Candidates Site/ (Surf Ecosystems) Profile

In the winter of 2018-2019, a team of UCLA students took on a research project to support the Surf Conservation Partnership titled “Identification and Profiling of Sites for Inclusion in Surf Protected Area Networks (SPAN)”. With Indonesia home to an overwhelming amount of surf, biodiversity, socioeconomic factors, and environmental threats, it is useful to merge and organize these factors in a comprehensive report. This report provides a replicable method to assess and prioritize candidate sites to include in conservation campaigns across Indonesia.
