His research focuses on understanding drought risk in managed water systems, with particular emphasis on how drought affects water users in California. His work has examined the economic impacts of water management and climate change on agriculture, as well as the development of drought indicators and early warning systems for California. Armen holds an M.S. in Civil Engineering from Loyola Marymount University and a B.E. in Civil Engineering from Notre Dame University-Louaize.
