David Wu

Second Year MBA Student

UCLA Anderson School of Management

Prior to Anderson, David worked as an engineer for five years in Canada at PetroChina, a multinational oil & gas company. As part of the company’s leadership development program, David built extensive experience in project management, driving operational effectiveness and identifying growth strategies. He has successfully spearheaded multiple cross-functional projects, identifying solutions that addressed technical challenges and project economics. He also thrived in a cross-cultural corporate environment, bridging the gap between Chinese leadership and North American project teams to execute effectively on multi-billion dollar initiatives.

On campus, David channels his time into further studying the nuances of international business, with a focus on the developments occurring in China and its role in the global economy. As the VP of Alumni Relations for both Greater China Business Association and Asian Management Student Association, David spends much of his time engaging with Anderson’s active alumni base to get first hand insights for numerous sectors on both sides of the Pacific.

This summer, David will be interning at Danaher (a globally diversified conglomerate) as part of their General Management Development Program. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, reading novels and planning his next international backpacking trip.
