I work on building probabilistic models of risk posed by natural hazards (earthuqakes, hurricanes, and wildfires) on the built environment at regional/community scales. My work involves devising data-driven characterizations of hazards, developing high-fidelity model inventories, and analyzing their damage using physics-based or hybrid (with AI) methods. I am a fellow of the Engineering Mechanics Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and serve as the inaugural Chief Editor of ASCE Open: The Multi-disciplinary Journal of Civil Engineering.
