Julie Ortega

Second Year MBA Student

UCLA Anderson School of Management

Before coming to Anderson, Julie worked as a content marketing writer and editor in Chicago for four years, where she helped financial- and B2B-industry clients position themselves as thought leaders in their spaces via targeted digital and print content. Her work regularly involved interviewing and liaising with C-suite executives and other industry subject-matter experts at companies with revenues of $2 billion and above, as well as collaborating internally with cross-functional teams such as graphic design, video production, and software development.

Julie came to Anderson to pursue social impact full time in a strategic role and was excited to spend the summer as a portfolio growth and performance intern at Save the Children in Washington, D.C. On campus, she serves as the Vice President of Admissions for the Net Impact club; Vice President of Programming for the Women’s Business Connection’s annual women’s summit, Velocity; and Social Impact Career Track Co-Coach, where she supports first-year MBA candidates in their journey to incorporate impact into their careers.

In her free time, Julie is an avid reader (some recent favorites: Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson and Give Work by Leila Janah) and enjoys jogging and watching Netflix documentaries.
