TreePeople
To thrive in a hotter, dryer future, the people of Los Angeles need trees.
On hot days, scorching paved surfaces in heat-vulnerable neighborhoods bake in the sun, endangering people’s health. Beyond the paved surfaces, a year-round fire season makes it clear that California is experiencing the deadly impacts of climate change. TreePeople, the largest community-driven environmental organization in Los Angeles, and IoES work together to better understand the effects of tree cover and the future of California wildfire, so we can advocate for the benefits of a more tree-filled future.
